MVB Hosts Annual Recognition Night to Honor Student Achievement

Martin Van Buren High School held its Annual Recognition Night on December 18, 2025, in the school auditorium to celebrate student achievement. Students who were nominated by their teachers received invitations to attend the ceremony. The event opened with a JROTC color guard march, followed by the national anthem, creating a formal and respectful start to the event.


The program included speeches from Principal Ms. Nettleford and assistant principals Ms. Jean, Mr. Garguilo, and Mr. Panepinto, all of whom were present to recognize student accomplishments. Mr. McCloud announced the names of the recipients, while the principal presented the awards on stage. The ceremony emphasized the importance of dedication, leadership, and positive contributions within the school community.


The awards presented included Academic Star, Class Role Model, Rising Phoenix, Enthusiastic Learner, and Eternal Service. These recognitions highlighted students’ hard work, character, and achievement. Food was provided at the end of the event for students, families, and staff, allowing everyone to celebrate together. The event concluded on a high note, leaving the MVB community inspired and proud of its students’ achievements.
