MVB High is getting ready for Homecoming Week, which includes two big events that many students have been waiting for all year. This year's theme for the Homecoming Dance will be "Frozen in Time," held on December 5th. Already, many students have started to plan what they will wear to match the theme.

Spirit activities hosted by MVB, will be held in the days preceding the dance to build student involvement and hype for the big week. Teachers and volunteers will be working after school to help set up the gym with themed backdrops and light displays. The dance will also include music, activities, and food. Tickets are on sale now, and the Student Government reports that sales already exceed last year’s event. Students say they’re excited for a magical winter night to kick off Homecoming celebrations.

The fun will continue with the Homecoming Game on December 9th, where MVB is scheduled to take on Queens High School of Teaching in what should be a closely contested battle. Coaches describe the team as practicing extremely hard, seeking a big win in front of an energetic home crowd. Preparations are underway for the Pep Rally, with the cheer team and the marching band getting ready for special performances. Many students will be planning to participate both in the game and the dance as a means of showing school pride throughout the week. MVB staff wants this year's Homecoming to be the most memorable one yet.
